You may have thought that starting a portal site is something that would be difficult and expensive to do. Well – it can be if you had to pay someone to do it for you. The good news is that it can be done for absolutely no cost (other than a domain name and hosting – about $9.00 per year for a domain and $5.00 per month for hosting) just by following the simple instructions in this videos series.
I am going to show you how to set up a fully featured portal site using Wordpress.
Now I know what you’re thinking. “Wordpress is a Blogging platform”. Right?
Well yes, but it has become capable of so much more than that. People have developed thousands of modules called plugins that add functionality to Wordpress. There is an endless number of free theme templates out there for Wordpress. This has transformed it into my personal platform of choice.
