Unlike’s Google’s new tool, we use real browser data on each page. It’s pretty easy to track scrolling using JavaScript events, so as long as JavaScript is enabled, we’ll track it. Then it’s just a matter of some math and code to overlay the results onto the page. We’re going to add horizontal tracking shortly.
Very cool, and do like the inbuilt MVT.
The abandonment overlay – does it use real browser / screen resolution data from your web stats to work that out, or is it based on wider industry stats? Either way, how can it tell if a user’s scrolled down or not?
Thanks. I think people probably underestimate the impact of vertical placement on the conversion rate of a page. With this handy report, now you’ll know!
This is awesome! This will help identify all of the little changes that can be made to a page to help a site visitor go from leaving the site to converting into revenue. Kudos to Ektron.
